Spring cleaning the capsule wardbrobe

Last month I shared an update on my spring capsule wardrobe selection and since then I’ve made some changes.

The weather in the UK has been so unpredictable. There have been days of snow, hail and glorious sunshine and perhaps helpfully, the random weather helped me identify some gaps in my spring capsule choices.

This resulted in three new purchases – unsurprisingly, they are all grey.

This ‘salt & pepper’ skirt from Oliver Bonas is a grey tweed fabric with faux leather detail. I like the A-Line style and it works well for work with black tights and a white T-shirt.

Next up, I realised I had a gap in the shape of a dress with sleeves that wasn’t a jumper dress. For days when the weather is definitely spring like but you still want coverage for the breeze.

This Yumi dress from ASOS fits the bill perfectly and I love the silver bird pattern.

My shoe’s also had a reshuffle with my beloved, well-worn leopard print flats reaching breaking point on a rainy day. They have been replaced them with these sequined delights from TK Maxx.

They look much better in real life and have not yet caused any pain when walking.  These are a personal favourite ad wearing them makes me feel like tap dancing.

And while the seasons have been changing, I’ve managed to sell a few pairs of shoes on eBay that I haven’t worn in a while and have some winter items in mind that I’ll be sending to the charity shop in a few weeks once the english weather has made up its mind as to what season it wants to be.

All in all, I’m still enjoying this capsule experience and being able to see what’s in the wardrobe!

Speaking of wardrobes, My T is currently building ours and it’s looking pretty fantastic. I’ll be sure to update you on that once it’s finished.
